Kosher Mini Chefs President's Week 2011

During President’s Week, on Tuesday February 21 and Thursday February 23, the Kosher Mini Chefs at Neshama-Chabad of Manhattan Beach were hard at work baking and creating delicious dishes. On Tuesday, Shula Winner, co-director of Neshama-Chabad of Manhattan Beach taught the kids how to bake a beautiful challah from scratch, carrot muffins, and a delicious soy sauce spaghetti salad. The children spent the day designing their own aprons, learning about Kosher cooking, and preparing, cooking, and packaging their own yummy creations.

The Kosher Mini Chefs were very excited to come back on Thursday and learn new recipes. On Thursday, they made franks in blanks, a sweet noodle kugel, chocolate chip cookies, and chocolate covered bananas. Yum!

The chefs worked with partners, and learned how to work together in the kitchen.

The Special Kosher Mini Chefs program will take place on Sunday March 13 in preparation for the holiday of Purim.
