Ladies Zumba @ Solo Pilates -12/20/10

On December 20th, an exciting Ladies Zumba class was held at Solo Pilates. While salsaing and merenguing (salsa and meringue are traditional Zumba moves) the ladies had a fun and challenging workout, led by Irina Logman, a New York State licensed acupuncturist and a Nationally Board Certified herbalist. After the workout, there were light fruit and dessert refreshments for the participants.

After exercising the physical parts of their body, it was now time to exercise the spiritual. Shula Winner, co-director of Neshama – Chabad of Manhattan Beach gave a talk based on the book “Towards a Meaningful Life.” She explained that a Jewish soul can be compared to the wings of a bird. The wings enable a bird to reach heights it could not have reached without them, and the soul, our spiritual wings, gives us the ability to soar higher and overcome challenges. One can take advantage of this gift, by tuning into the soul and performing good deed. Through this one is able to unite the physical body with the spiritual, and there is no longer a battle between the spiritual and the physical, yet rather a harmonious and meaningful life.

Thank you to Irina for a great class, and to all the ladies who attended!
